About Saint Claude

Sarah Killen Ellman, the artist behind Saint Claude, has worked and lived as a New Orleans based jewelry designer for over 10 years.

Saint Claude’s namesake is derived from a Bywater street where Sarah’s first studio was located. Today, she resides in a 125 year old ‘double-shotgun’ in the Irish Channel with her husband and their daughter, Rowan, and works out of her home and the store she co-owns, Saint Claude Social Club.

When designing, Sarah works in wax to create her one of kind pieces, employing the traditional lost wax technique when casting the metal.

Saint Claude’s mission is to give everyday adornments significance and history - pushing the wearer to see more than what meets the eye in ordinary objects.

Sarah’s pieces represent the duality of beauty and darkness so often found in her beloved city of New Orleans.
