Saint Claude feather earrings and upcycled fabric neckwear pieces are designed and lovingly hand-made by Sarah Killen in New Orleans, Louisiana.
Sarah designs with the spirit of individuality in mind and makes every item to order; created just for you.
All feather earrings are made from hand-cut leather & carefully chosen feathers, most of which are ethically sourced or found by Sarah while on her many adventures around the world. Sarah is a self-proclaimed "textilophile," a lover of all (especially vintage) fabrics. She has collected tons of interesting and beautiful fabric over the years, and never stops hunting for that "perfect" print or texture. Each and every of Saint Claude's fabric combinations, whether it be a fabric necklace or neckwarmer, are made with lots of thought and consideration.
All metallic rings & necklaces are made with the help of Tim Lacrosse, a New Orleans local artist who has been hand carving and casting sculpture and jewelry for a little over 10 years. Tim and Sarah are neighbors (seriously, she walks to his studio) in the Irish Channel and they both share a deep love for all things New Orleans.
One of Tim's favorite quotations- which perfectly describes the spirit of New Orleans locals, was said by Chris Rose, a writer and fellow lover of the Crescent City. "We dance when there is no music. We drink at funerals. We talk too much & live too large &, frankly, we're suspicious of others who don't."
